Carol Corrine (Jones) Blacksmith, 92, of Novinger, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026 at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, Missouri.

Born March 27, 1934 in Green Castle, Missouri, Carol was the daughter of George Raymond and Ruby Opal (Coy) Jones. On March 27, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Carol was united in marriage to Adolf Blacksmith who preceded her in death on September 5, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents and by two infant brothers.

Carol is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Judy Blacksmith, and Kelly and Rhonda Blacksmith all of LaPlata, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dannie Rhoads of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Linda Zeigler of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Kelli Nichole (Cameron) Partin, Joe (Jennifer) Blacksmith, Cory (Heather) Blacksmith, Lisa Rhoads, and Zach Rhoads; great grandchildren, Nolan Partin, Lily Partin, Aftyn (John) Anderson, Tristan (Lexi) Wilson, and Maddie Rhoads and (Dylan VanWyk); great-great grandchildren, Harper Blacksmith, Sadie Blacksmtih, and Arthur Blacksmith, Gannon, Gunner, and Grayson Horton, and Bexley VanWyk; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Carol was a graduate from Novinger R-1 High School with the Class of 1952. She was employed for fifty years at Bank of Kirksville until her retirement. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising flower beds, and was an avid reader. She loved and enjoyed time spent with her family and will be missed by many. To her family she was the picture of Grace.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Novinger Cemetery in Novinger with Pastor Danny Daniels presiding.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Carol may be made to Ringo Point Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
