Joyce Ann Tollenaar Blakely, 63, of Oxford MI, passed away on July 16, 2026.

She was born on March 29, 1963 in Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Del and Juanita (Borron) Tollenaar. She was married to Jeffrey Blakely on September 22, 1990 in Troy, Michigan.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Patricia Tollenaar and Daniel Tollenaar.

Joyce is survived by her husband Jeff of Oxford, son Colin (19) of Oxford, brother David Tollenaar and wife Mary, of Columbia, Missouri, nephew and niece, Evan and Kate Tollenaar of Columbia, Missouri, step mother Maxine Tollenaar of Kirksville, Missouri, mother and father in law, Sharon and Marshall Wolok, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and many other relatives.

Joyce was a graduate of Kirksville Senior High School in 1981 and Truman State University (then Northeast Missouri State University) in 1985.

Joyce was baptized at age 11 at First Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri. Her faith never wavered.

She worked in fashion merchandising in various roles and locations. She worked in management, visual merchandising, planogramming, and merchandise presentation. She traveled, moved, and worked in Columbia, Missouri, Rockford, Illinois, Arlington Heights, Illinois, Troy, Michigan, districts in Metro Detroit and Eastern Michigan and corporate HQ in Troy, Michigan. She and Jeff then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked at the Kohl's Corp office in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. They then returned to Michigan.

Her favorite role came in 2007 when their son, Colin, was born and she became a mother. It was her dream come true when they became a family.

Joyce's greatest desire is for all to come to faith in Jesus Christ. She hopes to see you in heaven one day.

Joyce will be dearly remembered and missed by many.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 3-8PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons (Price Chapel), 3725 Rochester Road (between Big Beaver & Wattles), Troy, (248) 689-0700.

Funeral Service Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 12PM at the Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11AM.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri, under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
