Janet Mae (Manes) Ornt, 71 of Moberly Missouri formerly of Jefferson City Missouri passed away peacefully on Sunday May 31, 2026 at her home.

Janet was born February 20, 1955 the daughter of the late Dallas Leo and Margie E Manes. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dallas, Harvey and Jimmie; brother-in-law, Rich Pratte; and sister-in-law, Kathy Manes.

Janet had a knack for crocheting and made over 1,000 Afghans in her lifetime. She enjoyed watching game shows on Game Show Network. In her younger years she worked at Dix' Road cleaners in Jefferson City Missouri. She attended Jefferson City public schools and graduated from Jefferson City High School..

Janet is survived by her two sons Michael Manes and Matthew Ornt of Boyd TX; one daughter Shawna Ornt of Centralia MO; three sisters Donna, Juni, and Lori-Ann; her grandchildren, Logan and Hunter Manes, Jaela Ornt Jaxon, Aniya Malia Kolton, Lyric and Skylar; two great-grandchildren Maverick and Oliver. Janet also has a great grandchild that is due to be born December 2026, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Janet's wish to be cremated and no service be held. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
