Larry Joe Boyd, 80, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at his home.

Born June 3, 1945 in Spring Valley, Illinois, Larry was born the son of the late James Ralph and Hazel Mae (Greathouse) Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Boyd, and two brothers, Ronnie and Richard Boyd. On January 14, 1978 in Peru, Illinois, Larry was united in marriage to Debra Ann Severson.

Larry is survived by his wife, Debra of forty-seven years; one daughter, Michelle Ichikawa of Hawaii; one brother, Gary Bruno of Grandville, IL; thirteen grandchildren; as well as six great-grandchildren.

Larry was a graduate from Grandville High School in Grandville, Illinois. He served his country in the United State Marines from 1965 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He was employed forty plus years for Huntsman Corporation in Puru, Illinois moved to the Green Castle area to make his home thirteen years ago. He was a member of River Rats Muzzle Loaders and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

It was Larry's wish to be cremated and no service will be held. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville, Missouri.

My condolences to Debbie. They meant everything to each other. May your memories give you comfort.
I will forever be grateful for the things I inherited from my father: my love of reading, my love for naps, and my appreciation of nature.
I also want to acknowledge a few important people omitted from his obituary: the man who raised him- the late Mike Bruno, his daughters- Donna and Julie, and a deceased grandson, Dylan.
