Sharyn Leora (Griggs) Deierling, 79, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Sharyn was born on July 17, 1947, in Unionville, Missouri, the daughter of Leonard and Letha (Harris) Griggs. On November 20, 1982, she was united in marriage to George Allen Deierling in Unionville, Missouri.

In 1993, Sharyn and George moved from Milan, Illinois, to Kirksville, where they made their home for over thirty years. Sharyn worked as a cosmetologist and was a dedicated homemaker for her family.

She was an active member of the Cornerstone Church in Kirksville. Sharyn enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, and making beautiful flower arrangements. Above all else, she loved her family and cherished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, George of Kirksville, MO; her daughter, Lorrie Mears and husband Edward Jr. of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Shirley Griggs of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Isaiah Mears, Alexander Mears, and Olivia Mears; a niece, Stacy Thompson; and a nephew, Kerry Morton.

Sharyn was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sandra Morton; and one niece, Shelda Hovar.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Broach officiating. Burial will follow the service at Shipley Cemetery in Hartford, Missouri.
