Irene Mae (Baskett) Weber, 89, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

She was born in Novinger, Missouri, on June 19, 1934 the daughter of Olen Francis and Nellie (Zeigler) Baskett. Irene was united in marriage in Greentop, Missouri, on November 26, 1953, to Frank Michael Weber Sr., who preceded her in death on January 1, 1991.

Irene was also preceded in death her parents; one son, Eldon Weber; one granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Weber; three sisters: Ival, Mary, and Iris; and three brothers: Ivan, Gene, and Dale.

She is survived by one son, Frank Michael Weber Jr. of Otley, Iowa; one daughter, Nellie Etta Smith of Kirksville; and three brothers, Isaac Baskett of Ottumwa, Iowa, Ira Baskett of Tempe, Arizona, and Imon Baskett of Ottumwa, Iowa.

Irene graduated from Greentop High School. She worked for KLTI radio, the Kirksville Daily express and the A.T. Still University library for several years. Irene was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church and enjoyed writing, sewing, crochet and cooking.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri, with Pastor Tim Ingle presiding. Burial will follow in the Union Temple Cemetery near Novinger, Missouri. Public visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral services in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
