Annabelle (Buchanan) White, 97, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023 at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal, Missouri.

The daughter of the late Oral Everett and Anna (Bell) Buchanan, she was born May 14, 1926 in Greentop, Missouri. On August 19, 1945 in Atlanta, Missouri, Annabelle was united in marriage to Billy White who preceded her in death on August 12, 2018. She was also preceded in death by one son, David White, and two sisters, Louise Gregory and Elaine Turner.

Annabelle is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, DeWayne and Karen White of Quincy, IL; one sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Hal Ross of Yorba Linda, CA; four grandchildren, Jessica Dominowski and Nicole White both of Sioux City, IA, Christal (Rob) Carter of Fowler, IL, and Nathan White of Palmyra, MO; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Annabelle was a graduate from Greentop High School and received a bachelor's degree from Northeast Missouri State Teacher's College in Kirksville. She began her teaching career at Pleasant Grove and Porter country schools before moving to Moulton, Iowa where she taught at Moulton, then Dallas Center, and Des Moines public schools until retiring in 1989.

Annabelle enjoyed gardening and shopping, but most of all she loved time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild.

Annabelle was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was a member of the choir.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service following at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Denny Myers officiating. Interment will follow the service at Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Nathan White, Rob Carter, Jeff Lindquist, Bruce Piper, Terry Sevits, and Bill Stump.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Annabelle may be made to Greentop Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
