Carrol Dean Findling, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of the late Roy Albert and Viola Mae (Neff) Findling, he was born November 21, 1945 in Kirksville, Missouri. On September 6, 1969 in Kirksville, Carrol was united in marriage to Jeanne Carol Mountain who preceded him in death on November 7, 2004. He was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Harold, Clarence, Forrest, Robert, Clyde, Donnie, Roy Jr., and Laverne Gail; and one sister, Beulah Watson.

Carrol is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Wayne Caton, of Forest City, MO; two grandchildren, Kiley and Zachary Caton of Forest City, MO; one step granddaughter, Natalie Caton of St. Joseph, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mildred Findling of Greentop, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carrol lived his entire life in Kirksville, and was a graduate from Kirksville High School. He was employed for Burdman Auto Parts until going to work for Hollister, Inc. where he was employed thirty-nine years until retiring in 2008.

Carrol enjoyed hunting, fishing, training his bird dogs, but most of all he loved time spent with his daughter and grandchildren. Without fail, he always asked daily during his phone calls with Michelle about his grandchildren for he was such a proud papa.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, and will be followed by a graveside service at Park View Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating.
