Imojean Irene (Jackson) Humphrey, 93, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Imojean was born August 15, 1929 the daughter of the late Ernest and Nellie (Burris) Jackson. On December 21, 1950 in Kirksville, Missouri, Imojean was united in marriage to Bernard Patrick "Shorty" Humphrey who preceded her in death on March 1, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Laura Ann Morrow; great grandson Jacob Thomas Atkison; two brothers Mitchell Jackson and Charles Jackson; four sisters; Opal Hird, Lucille Blankenship, Margaret Gillispie, and infant daughter Jackson; two daughters-in-law, Mickey (Keller) Jackson, and Cindy (Bridgeman) Humphrey; and one son-in-law, Keith Bailey.

Imojean is survived by three sons, Loyd Jackson of Lancaster, MO, Darryl Humphrey of Ottumwa, IA, and Clinton "CJ" Humphrey of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Debra (Humphrey) Bailey of LaPlata, MO; fourteen grandchildren, Vicky (Gary) Yearns, Tammy (Brian) Atkinson, Jessie (Chris) Pinson, Richard (Laur) Morrow, Kara Bailey, Tara (David) Boston, Kyle Humphrey, Tiffany (Justin) Bennett, and Laura (Humphrey) Turner, Jeff (Betty) Bailey, and Angie (Art) Dewitz; thirty-three great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Imojean resided most of her life in Adair and Schuyler counties. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, sewing, gardening and most of all spending time with her family.

Imojean was a member of the LaPlata Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville with B.J. McAlpin officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. service time. Interment will follow the service at Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville.

Pallbearers will be Richard Morrow, Chase Morrow, Gary Yearns, Bayli Boston, Justin Bennett, and Jeron Bennett.

Memorial donations in memory of Imojean may be made to Willmathsville Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
