Evelyn D. (Snyder) Koenig, 90, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 15, 2023 at The Pines in Kirksville.

Born November 16, 1932 in Green Castle, Missouri, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Steven Dale and Ruby May (Pifer) Snyder. On October 6, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri, Evelyn was united in marriage to Edwin Leon Koenig who preceded her in death on November 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death one brother, Dale Snyder; one sister, Selma Kimmerly; son-in-law, Randie Lunsford; and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Snyder.

Evelyn is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Annie Koenig of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Chereye Lunsford (Herb Treece) of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Carlos "Bud" Snyder of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Judi Snyder of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Michele Johnson, Michael (Holly) Koenig, Marty (JoLynn) Lunsford, David (Audrey) Koenig, and Kelly Koenig; eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Tyler Garrett, Madeline Koenig, Logan Garrett, Morgan Lunsford, Jacob Lunsford, Dylan Koenig, Jolene Koenig, Corbin Koenig, and Eleanor Koenig; three great-grandchildren, Hayden Sweet, Lanie Lawrence, and Konnor McKim; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was a graduate from Green City High School with the Class of 1950. She went to work for McGraw Edison Company in 1959 where she was employed until the closing of the plant. She then went to work at Hollister's Inc. where she was employed seventeen years until retiring.

Evelyn enjoyed shopping, flowers, golf, and Cardinal baseball but most of all she loved the time spent with her family.

Evelyn was a life time member of the Women of the Moose and enjoyed her time spent at the lodge.

Public visitation will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Graveside services following at Park View Memorial Gardens officiated by Doug Athon.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael Koenig, Marty Lunsford, David Koenig, and Kelly Koenig. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
