Frances "June" Ladwig, 100, formerly of Greentop, Missouri, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on March 9, 2023. She died peacefully with her cat, Bo, curled up by her side and family nearby.

June had a special love for her family and often “blessed our hearts”. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, collecting antiques, and cooking for her family. We will forever cherish her Christmas cookies.

June cherished her faith in Jesus which inspired her to give back to her community as a lifelong member of Trinity United Fellowship and President of Trinity United Methodist Women’s group. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Kirksville Chapter #184.

June graduated from Kirksville High School, thereafter attended Black Hills Teachers’ College, Spearfish, South Dakota. At the start of her career she worked as a supervisor of engineering at Curtiss-Wright airplane plant in St. Louis, Missouri and Templetone Radio in Mystic, Connecticut. She moved back to her family farm in Northeast Missouri and married her husband, Herman Ladwig. She was Director of volunteer services at KCOM where she eventually retired.

June is preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. Ladwig; infant son, Richard; father, James W. Hart; mother, Daisy (Vanwey) Hart; sisters, Genevieve (Ralph) Emerson, Gladys (Lowell) Willows, Maude (Marshall) Burke; son-in-laws, Dale White and Rex Bean.

June is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Patti”( Michael) Leisner; granddaughters, Tracy Jones-Kirsch (Alex) Kirsch, Lisa (Myron) Williams of Colorado; great grandsons, Alex and Isaac Jones, Jayden Wooden; great-great grandson, Sylas Martin Jones; step grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

June’s love and faith in Christ will be her legacy to her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with pastor Josh Botello presiding. Entombment will immediately follow at the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
