Barbara Ann (Ross) Beerbower

-

Barbara Ann (Ross) Beerbower went to be with her family and heavenly father on Monday, February 27, 2023.

Barbara is survived by two daughters: Joy Christy Garr of Kirksville MO and Jan Irene Talbert of Elmer, Missouri; one sister: Janie (Mel) Fortney of Kirksville; four grandchildren: Jamie Garr of Kirksville, MO, Kendra (Daniel Blaine) Talbert of Queen City, MO, Derick Garr of Kirksville, MO, and Dru (Marlene) Talbert of Kirksville, MO. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren, her brother-in-law Don Patterson, and several grand pups.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl and Vaden Ross, three brothers: John “Jack” Ross and wife Barbara, James “Jimmy” Ross, Richard “Fuzzy” Ross and wife Evelyn; two sisters: Donna Louise Sorenson and husband Phil, and Carol Sue Patterson. Also preceded in
death by her beloved niece Kim Featherston.

Barbara was born in Wyaconda Missouri on September 28, 1935. She received her education at Adair County R-II school in Brashear, graduating in 1953. On February 26, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald S. Beerbower at the Jaycee Merchandise show at the Riegor
Armory. A record crowd of over 3,500 people were in attendance, the largest ever to attend the event. Once their children started school, Barbara started her work career. She cashiered at several grocery stores for the next 30 years, including Hy-Vee and Welches Cash Saver
(Prengers Apple Mart). She spent the last of her working days at in-home health care.

Barbara was a huge sports fan and could usually be found in the bleachers, rooting for the
home team, or at home rooting for the Cardinals. She was an avid hand quilter and crotchetier. Many of her works are still enjoyed to this very day. What Barbara was most proud of was her family. Each member of her family brought her special joy. The end of her life was abundantly
full, having helped raise three generations of her immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at Faith United Methodist Church, Saturday, March 4th, at 2:00 P.M. with visitation started an hour prior to the services.

She will be laid to rest next to her parents, in a private ceremony, at a later time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The Pines and their wonderful staff that helped Barbara in the months before her passing and may be left at or mailed to Travis Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
