I have known the "Gordy Family" for most of my life. Fred & Florence were my early childhood neighbors in Glenwood. Candy was my young Glenwood friend & playmate, Vallerie was my dear classmate & friend, Volney was a friend, schoolmate, & employee for me at Gray's MFA. Vernon, Veldon, Verl, & Vickie were all lower school mates and also friends of my four younger brothers. Vernon was just like his parents Don and Louise--kind, good-hearted people. The Smyser & Gordy men & boys were all good mechanics and liked to tinker with motors and race cars etc. Our generational family bonds have intertwined throughout our lifetimes so saying a final goodbye to Vernon is sad and difficult; but a joy that Vernon is now walking with angels in peace and comfort and not suffering with pain and impairment from his symptoms of multiple sclerosis. With deepest sympathy-Debbie Smyser
