George Franklin Glaspie, CMSGT (Ret.), 87, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023.

Born March 8, 1936 in Greentop, Missouri, George was the son of the late Delbert and Dollie (Gardner) Glaspie.

George was united in marriage to Elizabeth Irene Gray in 1958.

George is survived by his wife Elizabeth (Liz) of sixty-five years; one son and three daughters, Stuart Glaspie of Chicago, IL, Regina (Gina) Seufert of Tillamook, OR, Teresa (Tari) Glaspie of Kirksville, MO, and Roberta (Bobbi) Glaspie of Warrensburg, MO; three sisters, Diana Robinson, Delena Sullivan, and Vicki Rummersfield; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several other family members.

George was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Patricia Ann; and three brothers, Forrest Glaspie, Dale Glaspie and Wayne Glaspie.

George was a graduate of Greentop High School and Central Missouri State University. He proudly served his country for 22 years, 9 months and 16 days with the United States Air Force, retiring as Chief Master Sergeant. He enjoyed being an auctioneer in Warrensburg, farming and raising cattle in Greentop, planting his watermelon fields and gardens in Novinger. George enjoyed his many hours selling peaches, apples and pecans at the Kirksville Farmers Market and Tractor Supply parking lot.

Public visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2023 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of George Glaspie may be made to Hospice of Northeast Missouri or to Jacksonville Assistance League of the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
