On October 03, 2023 the lord called another angel home named Linda Nelle (Thompson) Turner, 85, of Kirksville, MO.
Linda was born on April 07, 1938 in Humboldt Township, Coles County, Illinois, to Harold H. Thompson and Madge (Cole) Thompson.
Linda graduated from Arcola High School in Illinois. On June 28, 1958, Linda was united in marriage to Bethel L. Turner at First Christian Church in Arcola, Illinois where “Little Rose Bud” became her sweet, dear name from her husband.
She worked as a switch board operator, Assistant Manager of Dairy Queen, several fast food restaurants, factory worker at Donaldson’s, PSF, Tyson Foods, and co-owner of Mr T’s Bar and Grill with her lifelong love Bethel.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and great -great grandma. She enjoyed being the sunshine by always having a smile to brighten up every room. Linda loved to tend to the garden and flower beds. She also liked doing word books, watching wildlife, and spending time with family and friends. Linda was always there to help anyone in need and enjoyed seeing all the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids as much as possible. She loved hummingbirds and was a lifelong collector of chicken figurines. Linda could never be held down from doing anything that she thought would help someone else and never wanted anyone to help her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold (Madge) Thompson, in-laws Odes (Eva) Turner, sister Anna (Bill) Seaman, brothers Lester (Mary) Thompson and Clyde (Joyce) Thompson, son-in-law Virgil Stewart, and grandson Christopher Hatcher.
Linda is survived by her husband Bethel Turner, sister Margaret (Larry) Nagreski, children Tina (Roger) Hughes, Terressa (Raymond) Hatcher, Terinda Stewart, and Tamra (Mark) Sizemore; grandchildren Sean Yadon, Raelynn Hatcher, James Hatcher, Beth Christman, and Tony Stewart; great grandchildren Sean Isaac (Melanie) Yadon, Trae Yadon, Tyler Yadon, Christopher Yadon, Eva Yadon, Shelby (Colton Hammes) Christman, Michael (Megan) Christman, and Tanner (McKenna Browning) Sipe; great-great grandchildren Jaxen Hammes, Everley Hammes , Troy Michael Christman IV, and Clarke Christman.
A visitation will be held at Travis Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 5 pm to 7pm. Graveside services will be at a later time in Arcola, IL where her ashes will be laid to rest.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Linda may be made to Bethel Turner to help with final cost and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
