Cathy Sue (Wood) Creason, 64, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Jack Robert and Alberta Lee (Lawson) Wood, she was born May 15, 1958 in Unionville, Missouri. On September 24, 1977 in Unionville, Missouri, Cathy was united in marriage to Lynn Creason.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Lynn Creason of almost forty-five years; her father, Jack Wood of Kirksville, MO; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Amber Creason of Ottumwa, IA, and Danny and Tonya Creason of Kirksville, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Teresa Wood of Kirksville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bill Aucutt of Kirksville, MO two sisters-in-law, Glenda Johnson of Green City, MO, and Emma Lee Creason of Kirksville, MO; one brother-in-law, Terry Creason and wife Teri of Kirksville, MO; four granddaughters, Kearsten and husband Alex, Alley, Carmen, and Josi; two step grandchildren, Kalena and Kail, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cathy was preceded in death by her mother Alberta Wood in 2003, and two brothers-in-law, George Creason and Jim Johnson.

Cathy was a graduate from Green City High School with the Class of 1976 and received her nursing degree from MACC in Moberly, Missouri in 1990. She had over thirty-two years in nursing before retiring from Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Cathy was active in 4-H with her two sons and later for her granddaughter. She was also a devoted chairman for Relay for Life of Kirksville.

Cathy was a devoted member of Union Temple Church where she taught Sunday school.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Pastor Alan Coonfield officiating. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, 2022 from noon to service time in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the service at Refuge Cemetery, north of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Matt Creason, Danny Creason, Robert Wood, Justin Aucutt, Kelly O'Haver, and Steve Valentine.
