Wilda Eileen (Hubbard) Steele, 78, of Yarrow, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022 at her home.

Born January 9, 1944 in Kirksville, Missouri, Wilda was the daughter of the late Wilbur Edwin and Wilma Alice (Woods) Hubbard. In 1962 in Kirksville, Missouri, Wilda was united in marriage to Jerry Steele who preceded her in death on August 5, 2020. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Willard Hubbard; one granddaughter, Monica Steele; son-in-law, Raymond Phelps, and one nephew, Jeffrey Allen.

Wilda is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Carl and Beth Steele II of Kirksville, MO; one daughter, Alice Dean Phelps and friend Chuck Woods of Belton, TX; two brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Amy Hubbard, and Wilbur and Pat "Shorty" Hubbard all of Kirksville, MO; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Wanda Hubbard, and Charlene Machlear both of Kirksville, MO, and Mildred and Jerry Findling of Greentop, MO; one brother-in-law Ralph and Vicki Steele of Novinger; three sisters-in-law, Zelda (John) Smith of Millard, MO, Marieta and John Allen of Novinger, and Zane Hubbard of Cape Girardeau, MO; five grandchildren, Carl Phelps, Brittney Steele, Kevin Phelps, Erin Steele, and Jake Phelps; and several great-grandchildren.

Wilda was a life-long resident of Yarrow and graduated from Kirksville High School. She was employed at Florsheim Shoe Factory a number of years. She enjoyed watching TV, playing solitaire and games on her phone.

Public visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville and graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Yarrow Cemetery in Yarrow.

Memorial donations may be made to her son Jerry Steele and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
