Eunice Jean (Briddle) Barrickman, 87, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Born November 14, 1934 in Kirksville, Missouri, Eunice was the daughter of the late Homer and Susie (Lay) Briddle. On June 6, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Eunice was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Barrickman.

Eunice is survived by her husband Bob of sixty-eight years; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Jan Barrickman of Overland Park, KS; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Greg Pauley of Centralia, MO, and Tammy and Dennis Altschul of Plattsburg, MO; daughter-in-law, Carol Barrickman of Columbia, MO; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Mallory) Pauley of Seattle, WA, T.J. (Katrina) Barrickman of Cowgill, MO, Joshua (Jenny) Pauley of Kansas City, MO, Lindsey Barrickman of St. Augustine, FL, Jake Altschul of Tacoma, WA, Megan Altschul of Columbia, MO, and Danielle Altschul of Kansas City, MO; three great-grandchildren, Hope Barrickman of St. Augustine, FL, and Shianne Barrickman, and Zachary Stratton of Cowgill, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Tim Barrickman on August 28, 2010; two brothers, Claude and Glen Briddle; and two sisters, Leila Scott and Ruby Amon.

Eunice was a graduate of Greentop High School. In 1954 she went to work at Laughlin Hospital until 1968 when she started home day care. Over the next five years she lovingly cared for a number of children. In 1977, she joined Grim-Smith Hospital where she was quickly promoted to nurse tech receiving employee of the month and later employee of the year in 1990. At the closing of Grim-Smith Hospital, Eunice went to work at Northeast Regional Medical Center where she retired in 2004 after being very dedicated to her years in nursing.

Eunice served as a den mother of Cub Scouts, worked with many local charities and was a very active member of the First Christian Church of Kirksville. She was also active in Eastern Star and White Shrine.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville with Pastor John Dungan officiating. Family will receive friends before the service from 12:00 to service time at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Hazel Creek Cemetery, northwest of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Scott, Jake Altschul, T.J. Barrickman, Josh Pauley, Megan Altschul, and Nathan Pauley.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Eunice may be made to the First Christian Church and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
