Robert R. Wilson, 93, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at his home.

Born January 6, 1929 near Greentop, Missouri, Robert was the son of the late Earnest Elias and Armeda Delroe (Gates) Wilson. On April 15, 1956 in Kirksville, Missouri, Robert was united in marriage to Carol June Miller who preceded him in death on October 17, 2008. He was also preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law Marsha and Elmer Voyles, three brothers and sister-in-laws, Roland (Mildred) Wilson, James (Lorena) Wilson, and Layton (Delma) Wilson; one sister and brother-in-law, Elaine (Wesley) Lay; brother Raymond Wilson, brother-in-law Abner Bragg, and sister-in-law Henrietta Wilson.

Robert is survived by one son, David (Chris) Wilson of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Betty Wilson of Baytown, TX, and Lois (Gerald) Helton of Brashear, MO; one brother, Vernell Wilson of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Evelyn Bragg of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Joyce Wilson of Santa Rosa, CA; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Robert was a graduate from Greentop High School with the Class of 1947. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1948 Robert began his career with the United States Postal Service and retired in 1985 after thirty-seven years of employment. He began as a substitute carrier, delivering mail on horseback and worked his way up to Postmaster. While with the postal service, Robert also farmed and worked in construction.

Robert began attending First Assembly of God Church in Kirksville in 1954. He became a member after being save in 1954 and served in many capacities until his death.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 2401 S. High Street, in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Jeff Arp and Pastor Nathan Scott officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow the service at Ft. Madison Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Lozuaway, Christopher Lozuaway, Robbie Wilson, James Maxey, Andrew Ragouzis, and Joshua Botello.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert may be made to the Ft. Madison Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Mr. Wilson was a very nice man! I visited with him often around Brashear. For a number of years he helped with reserving the community building. I am sorry to hear of his passing!
