Ruben Lee Withrow, 73, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home.

Born March 26, 1948 in Livonia, Missouri, Ruben was the son of the late Clarence "Leroy" and Nina Bernice (Ray) Withrow. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie Dean and Dorothy Corneilson, and two brothers, Darl Shrake and Parker Withrow. On June 18, 1973 in Kirksville, Missouri, Ruben was united in marriage to Darlene Vice.

Ruben is survived by his wife Darlene of forty-eight years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Maralee Bachman of Charles City, IA, and Kevin and Janie Withrow of Brashear, MO; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Alice Miller of Kirksville, MO, Tina and Quentin Chambers of Ellisville, MO, Kerra and Kris McCarty of Hurdland, MO, and Sondra Shrake of Kansas City, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Brenda Withrow of Knob Noster, MO; three sisters, Louise Huggins and Sandra Dunaway both of Kirksville, MO, and Debbie Swan of Knox City, MO; eighteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, as well a numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruben spent many years as an over the road truck driver for several companies including, Dickey Transport out of Iowa; Dahlstein Trucking Company out of Nebraska, and McCarty Trucking out of Hurdland, MO. After retiring from driving over the country, Ruben last drove a milk truck route for Dennis Garlock.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Family will receive friends on Monday for one hour before the service and interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Gibbs, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Withrow, Randy Craig, Bobby McCarty, Leon McCarty, Caleb Bock, and Colby Stutsman. Honorary pallbearers will be Laverne Gerhold, Dennis Garlock, David Stutsman, and Gene McCarty.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ruben may be made to the Union Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
