1954 - 2022

John(Joe) L Biggerstaff III, 67, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022 surrounded by his wife and children.

Born May 7,1954 in Kirksville, Missouri, Joe was the son of the late Dr. John and Doris Biggerstaff Jr. On July 27, 1974 in Kirksville, Missouri, Joe was united in marriage to Kathy (Smoyer) Biggerstaff. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Doris Biggerstaff, and his two sisters Nancy Biggerstaff and Jane (Biggerstaff) Mathis.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of Bella Vista, AR; one son John Biggerstaff IV of Bella Vista, AR, one daughter Hannah (Biggerstaff) Block and son-in-law Lance Block of Delaware, OH; his grandsons Hudson and Landon Block; his sister Ann (Biggerstaff) Leefers and brother-in-law William Leefers of Solon, IA and many nephews and nieces.

Joe spent his first 48 years in Kirksville, MO raising his family and as a business owner. Joe will always be remembered as man of great faith and generosity with a heart for his community. He donated supplies and medications for countless medical mission's trips, worked closely with hospice and nursing homes, and it wasn't uncommon for him to personally deliver holiday meals and presents for those in need. If he knew of others in need, he never hesitated to help. After retirement, Joe and Kathy spent six years in Murrieta, CA before settling down in Bella Vista, AR.

Joe enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer for most of his life. However, nothing gave him more happiness than his family. Becoming a grandpa to Hudson and Landon was the joy of his life in his later years. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandpa and the best brother, uncle and friend you could ask for. Those who knew him will never forget his bright smile or his infectious laugh.

Joe has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at 2pm at Mildred B. Cooper Memorial Chapel in Bella Vista, AR on Thursday, January 27, 2022. There will be a second Memorial Service at Travis Noe-Funeral home in Kirksville, MO at 2pm on Thursday, February 3, 2022 followed by a graveside burial at Maple Hills Cemetery.
