Public visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from noon to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Charles Alonzo Morris, 82, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Born July 24, 1939, in Kirksville, Missouri, Charles was the son of the late Alonzo Edgar and Lissie Marie (Munn) Morris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul Morris. On July 15, 1957, in Kirksville, Missouri, Charles was united in marriage to Helen Elaine Rager.

Charles is survived by his wife Helen of sixty-four years; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Charles and Monica Ann Morris of Branson, MO; one daughter Charla Morris Rohm of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Carole Murphy of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Jared Charles Rohm, Hannah Elaine Rohm, and Quinn Morris; sister-in-law, Louise Morris of Kirksville, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charles was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1957. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1966, Charles opened Morris Oil Company that he operated for 55 years, while also operating the Phillips 66 and Sinclair Stations. Charles last operated the Sinclair Station on West Normal Street until his retirement. After his retirement, Charles drove a school bus for Weber Bus Company, enjoyed spending time with his family, his grandchildren and Helen's family, and enjoyed having coffee with his friends.

In his early years, Charles enjoyed racing stock cars, traveling, taking photos, camping and hunting. He also sponsored the Oilers Babe Ruth baseball team for many years.

Charles was a member of Kirksville Jaycee's, Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge #366 AM & FM, Kirksville Shrine Club, El Kadir Shrine Cycle Club, and was a lifetime member of VFW. He attended the First Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Quinn Morris, Lonnie Rager, Hannah Rohm, Jared Rohm, Roger Treasure, and Jerome Williams.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Charles may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
