Armada Lee (Williams) Zimmerman, 88, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully after a long illness at the home of her son, Dr. Dale Zimmerman in Monroe City, MO.

Born January 3, 1933 in Kirksville, Missouri, Armada was the daughter of the late Basil Ocel and Bertha Mae (Rogers) Williams. On August 9, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri, Armada was united in marriage to Ora A. "Buz" Zimmerman who preceded her in death on December 22, 1995. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bill Williams; one sister, Wanita Douglas and husband Dennis; two brothers-in-law, Glen Walters, and Eugene"Dyke" Horton, as well as a sister-in-law, Thelma Zimmerman.

Armada is survived by two sons, Dr. Dale Zimmerman and wife Susan of Monroe City, MO, and Russell Zimmerman and wife Linda of Kirksville, MO; one sister, Mary Jo Walters of Kirksville, MO; two grandchildren, Thomas Zimmerman and Hannah of Monticello, MO and Kelli Leeann Zimmerman of Alamosa, CO; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Horton and Opal Williams both of Kirksville, MO, one brother-in-law, Bob Zimmerman of Kirksville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Armada was a graduate from Kirksville High School during high school she worked at Petes Candy Land. She studied nursing in Kirksville before working as a medical surgical nurse at Old Laughlin Hospital and later as an OB nurse at Grim-Smith Hospital until the time of her retirement.

Armada was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.

Armada was a member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church of Kirksville.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating.
