Lavera Pearl (Partin) Drummond, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021 at her home under the care of Hospice of Northeast Missouri.

Born December 26, 1940 in Lowground, Missouri, Lavera was the daughter of the late Preston Evan and Velma Ethel (Ray) Partin. On January 17, 1958, Lavera was united in marriage to George "Bob" Drummod who preceded her in death on December 20, 2020. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Bernie Partin.

Lavera is survived by her son, Ron Drummond of Kirksville, MO; her daughter, Sharon Drummond of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Partin of Hillsboro, IA, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lavera grew up on a farm and received her education in the Lowground Elementary and was a graduate from Unionville High School with the Class of 1957. After high school, Jack Phipps introduced Lavera to Bob Drummond who she later married. In 2007, her great nephew, Jim Phipps named his daughter Georgie Pearl after Bob and Lavera.

Lavera enjoyed planning trips to dinosaur parks, caves, national parks and state capitals. She always enjoyed riding behind Bob on his touring motorcycle. Lavera also visited friends in Austria twice. She will be remembered for her great chocolate chip cookies and pies. Lavera loved her Bible study groups. She attended Central Church of Christ, where she was baptized in 1997.

Lavera worked at McGraw Edison, Florsheim Shoe Factory, and later cleaned homes until her retirement.

Public visitation will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 for one hour until services at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Lavera may be made to Cox Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
