Dale Edward Daniels, 74, of Raytown, Missouri, formerly of Kirksville, passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Redwood of Carmel Hills in Independence.

The son of the late John Vernon and Eunia Gladys (Hays) Daniels, he was born February 15, 1947 in Novinger, Missouri. In 1978, Dale was united in marriage to Nancy Coltharp who survives. To this union two children were born.

Dale is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Sue and Brandon Tapia of Independence, MO; one son, James Dillon Daniels of Raytown, MO; his grandson, James Dillon Daniels Jr. of Raytown, MO; one sister-in-law, Tommy Daniels of Kirksville, MO, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Vernon, Dee, and Robert Daniels, and three sisters, Edna Daniels, Mary Ann Davison, and Judy Kay Daniels.

Dale was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1965. He served his country in the United States Navy in 1967 during the Six- Day War and was on the USS Liberty when it was attacked. He received a Purple Heart and went on to serve in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Dale returned home and was an iron worker. In the early 70's Dale moved to Independence, Missouri and worked in construction and carpentry for the remainder of his career. He last resided in Raytown the past few years.

At an early age, Dale enjoyed hunting quail. Dale loved all sports, following the Royals and Chiefs, his dog, Bo, but most of all he loved time spent with his family and his grandson, James who he adored.

It was Dale's wish to be cremated and a Memorial Service to honor his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Danny Daniels presiding. Inurnment will follow the service at Pratt Cemetery southwest of Novinger, Missouri

Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 5, 2021 for one hour before the memorial service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pratt Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

Sorry to hear about Dale's passing. Sending my sincere condolences to each of you. Sorry I couldn't be there. I have a lot of memories at granny's house beside us. Not last but least, thank you for serving our country, Dale. Rest in peace brother.
