Richard Marion "Dick" Gregory, 89, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday April 18, 2021 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The son of the late Dennis E. and Lola O. (Filkins) Gregory, Dick was born April 15, 1932 in Kirksville, Missouri. On January 27, 1967 in St. Clair, Missouri, Dick was united in marriage to Jeannette Coffman.

Dick is survived by his wife, Jeannette of fifty-four years; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Gregory and Doug Fehr of Greentop, MO; one brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Katheryn Gregory of Kirksville, MO; sister-in-law, Marva Buell of Milan, MO; six grandchildren, Tyson (Tiffany) Duff, Jessica Huff &(Roberto Godreau, Brenna Moss, Shane (Nikkie) Fehr, Ryan (Madalyn) Fehr, and Aric Fehr; eight great-grandchildren, Adleigh Duff, Payzleigh Maloney, Payzlynne Maloney, Lily Galbreath, Braydon Woods, Riley Woods, Kenna Fehr, Zion Godreau & BJ Godreau; longtime friend Ronnie Parsons who was just like a brother of Kirksville, MO; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by three brothers, Toad Gregory, Doc Gregory and Pete Gregory; six sisters, Sis Grgurich, Ceil Mihalovich, Nettamae Kepheart, Pauline Gregory, Coke Moore, and Phyllis Dolan and his brother-in-law, Herbie Buell.

Dick received his education in the Kirksville public schools. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. After being honorably discharged Dick returned home and worked many years as a brick layer until retiring.

Dick was a family man. His family came first, kind, gentle, and giving were three words to describe him. He was always quick to lend whatever he could to make sure his family was taken care of. He enjoyed watching his grandkids, Tyson, Jessica, and Breaana, participate in livestock competitions. He loved being outside; Hunting quail and pheasant along side his brother, Doc and their beloved dogs Cindy and Queen. Fishing for channel cat, crappie, and bass was another hobby of his. You could also bet on him winning a contest with who had the best maintained garden, yard and the most beautiful flowers! To think he's gone to heaven and has his eye-sight completely back is quite bittersweet. he will be dearly missed, but he's better now.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services with military honors following will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Jeremy Broach officiating. Cremation will follow the service and Dick will be interred at a later date at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO.

Pallbearers will be Justin Coy, John Buell, Jason Buell, Todd Hill, Bob Kelsey, and John Mihalovich.

Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Church of Kirksville and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
