Verlin Leo Louder, 86, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at his home under the care of Hospice of Northeast Missouri.

Born November 22, 1934 in Stuart, Nebraska, Verlin was the son of Leo James "Bud" and Chloie Jane (Gingrich) Louder. On September 8, 1953 in Greentop, Missouri, Verlin was united in marriage to Mildred "Joann" Gilliam.

Verlin is survived by his wife Joann of sixty-seven years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Cathi Louder of Queen City, MO, and Mark and Lea Louder of Everett, WA; one brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Janet Louder of Kirksville, MO; six grandchildren, Wesley, Stephine, Jamison, Nathaniel, Madeleine, and Adam; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Ella, Skylar, Raven, Jade, Dariann, and Gavin, as well as two great great-grandchildren, Nash and Charleigh.

Verlin was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Gene, Blaine, and Bill Louder.

Verlin was a graduate from Greentop High School. He served his country proudly with the United States Air Force. Verlin owned and operated his own auto mechanic business for thirty-five years and worked for Dale Motter for several years until retiring.

Verlin enjoyed wood working, mowing yards, restoring cars and tractors, reading, and watching TV, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Verlin was a member and served as a Deacon of the Rehoboth Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Ferguson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow the service at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Louder, Corey Louder, Keith Louder, Adam Louder, Nathaniel Louder, Scott Louder, and Rick Louder.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Verlin may be made to the American Heart Association and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
