Richard Dee "Rick" (Col.) Harrelson, 71, of Brashear, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of the late William Calvin and Margaret Mae (Mellinger) Harrelson, he was born December 13, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. On January 31, 1969 in Brashear, Missouri, Rick was united in marriage to Bonnie E. Crossgrove.

Rick is survived by his wife Bonnie of fifty-one years; three sons, Rick (Toni) Harrelson II of Kirksville, MO, Tim (Cnythia) Harrelson of Kirksville, MO, and Daniel (Christyl) Harrelson of Brashear, MO; two brothers, Ronald Harrelson of Jacksonville, FL, and Harley Harrelson of Kirksville, MO; thirteen grandchildren, Alexis Harrelson, T.J. Harrelson, Landon Harrelson, Luke Harrelson, Tristan Pinksa, Fellcia Pinksa, Wyatt Pinksa, Daniel D. (Sierra) Harrelson, Nick Harrelson, Alissa Harrelson, Elijah (Jasper) Harrelson, Jacob Harrelson, and Eliana Harrelson; one great-granddaughter, Laynee Nicole Harrelson, as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Rick was a graduate from Brashear High School with the Class of 1968 and received his auctioneer license his Junior year. Rick retired in 2010 after forty-two years with Santa-Fe Railroad. He also enjoyed raising goats, hunting, fishing, and barbequing for family reunions and friends.

Rick was a very devoted family man who loved and was very supportive of his children's and grandchildren's interests and sporting events.

Private family burial will take place on the family farm under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
