Juanita Marie (Uber) Scott, 96, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away January 1, 2021 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Edwin Pearl and Mary Jane (Schade) Uber, she was born April 6, 1924 in Greentop, Missouri.

Juanita was raised in rural Greentop, Missouri and was a graduate from Greentop High School in 1945. She married Charles Ward Scott on January 9, 1946 in Queen City, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister Edith (Wayne) VanMeter; two brothers, Orville (Ivalee) Uber, and George (Flossie) Uber; nieces, Virginia Smith, and Judy Anne Westoff; one nephew, Robert VanMeter, and one daughter-in-law, Kathy (Ambrosia) Scott.

Juanita is survived by three children, Charles "Ed" (Helen) Scott, Harry "Dick" (Becky) Scott, and Marieta "Gayle" (John) McSwiggin; six grandchildren, Ken (Naomi) Scott, Chris (Mary) Scott, Jackie (Nick) Noble, Richie (Estee) Scott, Bobbi (Brad) Whitlow, and Nikki (Brad) Sander; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and nine great great-grandchildren.

In addition to raising her three children Juanita worked cleaning homes, cooking at Stickler Hospital, The Colonial Manor Motel, and Elaine's Dining Room. In 1957 she and Charles purchased the Corral Drive In Restaurant, operating it until 1963 when they built and lived in Sunset Village Trailer Court until their retirement.

Juanita was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and a member and past commander of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Her favorite past times included sewing, reading, making quilts for her children and grandchildren, as well as for many friends and relatives. Her door was always open to family or anyone who might need a place to stay if for a night, week, or months. If you stopped by, she would prepare a meal using whatever she had on hand.

Juanita was liked by everyone she met and loved so very much by all of her family.

A private family burial will be held at New Harmony Cemetery and a memorial service to honor her life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Harmony Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

A Celebration of life in memory of Juanita will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge in Kirksville.
