Randall Trummel Cary, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, June 26, 2020 at the University Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Born December 11, 1938, in LaGrange, Missouri, Randall was the son of the late Ellis Thomas and Mamie Katherine (Mealman) Cary. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Marie Cary, six brothers, and one sister.

Randy is survived by step children, Michael (Barb) Baker of Midland, TX, Geneva Baker of Edina, MO, and Becky (Rusty) Davis of Greentop, MO; one brother, Dorsey Wallace Cary of Kansas; one sister, Shirley Brickman of Bowling Green, MO; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Randy received his education at LaGrange public school in LaGrange, MO. A decorated soldier, Randy served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965 receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Sharp Shooter Award and received several Purple Hearts. Randy and his step daughter Becky went on the Great River Honor Flight in 2018 to Washington D.C.

After serving his country Randy resided in Quincy, Illinois and was employed for Prairie Farms Dairy and was a bellhop for Lincoln Douglas Hotel. He then worked for Burns Security Company and was a police officer in Tacoma, WA a number of years. He later resided in Billings, MT where he worked as a ranch hand. After moving back to LaGrange, MO, Randy worked as a farm hand. He last worked for the City of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at Knox City Assembly of God Church in Knox City, Missouri. Family will receive friends for one hour before service time. Music will be provided by Sweet Water Family Gospel and Kim Henry. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, MO.

Memorial donations in memory of Randy may be made to his step daughter Becky Davis and may be left at the Assembly of God Church or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

My heart and prayers go out to the Cary family as well as the Brickman family for the loss of OUR Beloved Uncle.
