Olive Ruth (Soule) Reiser, 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri after a brief illness.

Born July 6, 1927 in Winfield, Kansas, Olive was the daughter of the late Frank and Lila Grace (Palmer) Soule. On September 3, 1950 in Winfield, Kansas, Olive was united in marriage to Billie Wayne Reiser who preceded her in death on July 1, 2007. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Blanche, Francis and Lila Grace.

Olive is survived by two sons, Steven Wayne Reiser of Kirksville, MO, and Michael Wayne Reiser of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Dr. Jeryl Lynn Parmenter of New Orleans, LA; one grandson, Richard Aaron Reiser of Shawnee, KS; one sister-in-law, Wiladean Savina of Wichita, KS; two brothers-in-law, Gary Reiser of Wichita, KS, and Merlin Reiser of Monroe, LA, as well as numerous very loved nieces and nephews.

Olive was a graduate from Winfield High School in Winfield, Kansas with the Class of 1945 and attended William Newton Memorial Hospital where she received her nursing degree. She was a member of the Cadet Nurses Corp. In 1972, Olive and her husband Wayne moved to Kirksville to make their home and Olive worked many years in nursing at the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital and was also active with her husband's business (Reiser Ford-Mercury). From 2004 to 2014, Olive enjoyed working for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Kirksville.

Olive will be remembered as being a pillar of the community, for being a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and will be truly missed.

Family will receive friends Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

It was Olive's wish to be cremated and a memorial service to honor her life will take place 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Chaplain Carrol Davenport presiding. Interment will follow at Maple Hills Cemetery, and a celebration of her life will take place at Olive's home following her interment.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Olive Reiser may be made to the Adair County Humane Society and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

So very sorry for your loss. I remember when Olive was a nurse in KOH hospital. A wonderful lady
