Zerada Helen (Rogers) Archer, 95, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

Born July 15, 1923 in Gifford, Missouri, Zerada was the daughter of the late Lacy and Dessie (Steele) Rogers. On August 14, 1941, Zerada was united in marriage to Samuel E. Mossbarger who preceded her in death on November 29, 1962. On August 21, 1974, she married Wilbur E. Archer who preceded her in death on November 11, 1988. Zerada was also preceded in death by one son, Dwain "Eddie" Mossbarger; daughter Patricia Joan Hedgecock who passed away the following day on August 22, 2018, one sister, Lucille Slaughter; three brothers, Hillis, Claudie and Donald Rogers; one step-brother, Leon Hays, and one step-sister, Lodena Shahan.

Zerada is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Lynne and Rich Gerleve of Shell Knob, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Frances Rogers, and Clifford and Sue Rogers all of Kirksville, MO; ten grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Zerada received her education in the Adair County and Gifford public schools. She resided in Ottumwa, Iowa a number of years and was employed by Bob's Market for thirty years. In 1989, Zerada moved to Kirksville to make her home. She enjoyed camping, playing scrabble, embroidering and raising flowers.

Zerada was a member of the Greentop Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow the service at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, August 25, 2018 for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Zerada Archer may be made to Twin Pines Adult Care Center and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
