Kenny Roscoe Peavler

Kenny Roscoe Peavler

-

Kenny Peavler went home to be with his Heavenly Father on May 11, 2018.
Kenny Roscoe Peavler was born on July 27, 1939 in Kirksville, MO. He spent his childhood in Green Castle, MO and graduated from Green City High School in 1957. After graduating, Kenny went to work in Chicago, IL for the Mars Candy Company and in 1960 came back home and married Ramah Colleen Johnson. To this union, 2 daughters were born Kenda Rae and Konda Gae.
In 1971 he married Linda Kay (Wiyrick) Rouse and they made their home in Kirksville.
Kenny was a hard worker and worked in several Kirksville factories. After retiring from Hollisters, he became a self-employed painter and stayed very busy again. Kenny truly loved to work; whether it was “working on the line” at McGraw-Edison or painting, he did the job right. He lived by Ecclesiastes 9:10—Whatever you do, do well…. That also included keeping his own home place neat and tidy with a beautifully painted white picket fence and flowers everywhere. Kenny was also very proud of his children and grandchildren and would light up with his beautiful smile when they dropped by to visit and hear him say…
“What’s a going on?”
Kenny is survived by his wife Linda and son Ronnie of the home, and daughters Kenda (JC) Roberts of Kirksville, MO and Konda (Rocky) Vick of Nebraska. He is also survived by two brothers of Green Castle, MO, Dub (Brenda) Peavler and Mike (Debbie) Peavler and his sister Shirley Roan of Novinger, MO.
Five grandchildren: Kandice (Adam) Robinson, Kourtney (Scott) Buckallew, Katelyn Brawner, Joe (Lorenda) Roberts and Luke Roberts.
Seven great grandchildren: Connor and Carli Robinson, Oakley and Finley Buckallew, Kolt and Kaci Roberts and Kinsley Western.
Also survived by Sister-in-law, Rita (Doug) Meline of Kirksville, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Violet Peavler and brother-in-law Dick Roan.
Kenny enjoyed living life with a smile on his face no matter what! He asked Jesus into his heart on February 4, 2018 and looked forward to meeting Jesus and seeing his Mom and Dad again!
There was certainly some dancing going on there when he entered Heaven because Kenny loved to dance. We can only imagine…
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2018 with family receiving friends for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Pastor Larry Gibson will officiate the service and interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri, and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
