Lisa Gay (Tally) Whittom, 60, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home under the exceptional care of Hospice and with family by her side.

The daughter of the late Raymond B. and Libbie H. (Prickett) Tally, Lisa was born March 27, 1958 in Big Spring, Texas. On July 22, 2005 in Brady, Texas, Lisa was united in marriage to Alan Whittom.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Alan Whittom of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Danny Dukich of Norman, OK; one brother and sister-in-law, Jan and Kathy Tally of Logo Vista, TX; two sisters, Sharon Justice of Kurtistown, Hawaii and Sandra Sawyer of Wichita Falls, TX; two step-sons and their wives, Brandon and Katelin Whittom of St. Louis, MO, and Zachary Whittom and fiancee Kimber Poor-Harmon of Bemidji, MN; one step-daughter, Morgan Whittom of Kirksville, MO; her mother-in-law, Donna Whittom of Kirksville, MO; three grandchildren, Jasmine Compton, Grayson Whittom, and Landon Whittom; two sisters-in-law, Marsha Hamilton and husband Darrell of Kirksville, MO, and Cheryl Southard of Springfield, TN; one brother-in-law, Andy Whittom and wife Lisa of Kirksville, MO; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and one step-son, Joshua Whittom.

Lisa graduated from Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Texas, and received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Teaching degree from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. Lisa's entire work life was spent in service to others in her community. She taught elementary school and GED training, and worked for both the State of Texas and Missouri in positions where she assisted applicants to obtain food stamps, jobs, housing, and other benefits, and counseled them on attaining a better life.

Lisa was a member of Union Temple Church, southwest of Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Mac McKinney officiating. Interment will follow the service at Yarrow Cemetery, southwest of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Danny Dukich, Danny Creason, Lynn Creason, Ethan Butler, Eldon Grissom, and Abdon Navarro.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her husband Alan Whittom and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.

My baby sister, Lisa, spent her whole life giving to and serving others. We honor her life and will miss her all the days of our own. She will be greatly missed by all.
