Arvin Nelson Davis, 82, of Queen City, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

Born December 7, 1935 in Ontario, Oregon, Arvin was the son of the late Lyston and Eloise (McMullin) Davis. In 1996 Arvin was united in marriage to Alta Ann Wallace.

Arvin is survived by his wife Alta of the home; two step-daughters, Cheryl Robinson and husband David of Novinger, MO, and Vicky Martin and husband Bill of Moberly, MO; four grandchildren, Clay McClanhan, Lee Martin, Micheal Robinson, and Sasha Robinson, as well as three great-grandchildren, Sidney and Tyler Robinson and Harper Murphy.

Arvin was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Ola (Trimble) Davis.

Arvin graduated from high school in Idaho. Arvin served in the Vietnam War with the United States Army and after twenty years of service retired in 1978. While serving in the U.S. Army, Arvin received the National Defense Service Medal; Driver Badge; Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/"V" Device; Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze 5 Loops; and the Meritorious Service Medal.

After retiring, Arvin worked in construction, trucked, and worked in heating and cooling. Arvin enjoyed his life which included hobbies, fishing, rock hunting, dancing, playing cards, and tinkering with things.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 following visitation with family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Robinson, David Robinson, Bill Martin, Edmon Miller, Clay McClanahan, and Daniel Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilbur Clay, Lee Martin, and John Wallace.

Interment with full military honors will follow the service at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
