Gregory "Greg" Lawrence, 68, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

Gregory “Greg” Lawrence was born in Kirksville, Missouri the son of Omar and Velva (Wiles) Lawrence on July 5, 1950. He graduated from the Brashear School district. He was a lifelong resident of Adair County. Upon graduation he was employed by Standard Register, formerly known as Burroughs, for 33 years. After the closing of the factory Greg later went on to work for over 10 years for the Adair County Assessors office, of which he was employed at the time of his passing.

Greg was involved and active with several organizations. He was a member of the El Kadir Shrine Club Kirksville Lodge #105, and the Moila Temple. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1751. He obtained his Missouri Real Estate Brokers License in 2003 and actively participated in the real estate industry from that date forward.

Greg was born and raised on a farm and that was something he was very fond of as he continued farming all throughout his life. In his youth he had an affection for cars and motorcycle riding with his friends. Later on in life, and for many years, he enjoyed his Saturday lunches with friends at the “North Mexican Restaurant”, LaFuente. No matter where he was or what he was involved with, he made many friends over his lifetime and cherished them all.

Greg’s love for all of his family that he grew up with, as well as his sons, daughters and grandchildren is where his real passion showed through. For all of his children and grandchildren he always had a smile and was very proud of each of and every one.

Greg is survived by his mother, Velva Lawrence of Kirksville, MO; one son, Michael Lawrence of Columbia, MO; three step-daughters, Marcy (Brent) Adams of Kansas City, MO, Tara (Ryan) Bradley of Houston, TX, and Monica (Lucky) Pyland of Flushing, MI; one brother and sister-in-law, Gawen and Michelle Lawrence of Kirksville, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Doug Martin of Canton, MO, as well as six grandchildren, Skyler Lawrence, Dalton Lawrence, Jordan (Travis) Knoll, Tanner McClaran, Jamison McClaran, and Dalton Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Omar Lawrence and one son, Troy Lawrence.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2018 with family receiving friends from noon to service time at 2:00 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
