Richard Dale Gingerich, 83, of Springfield, Missouri, (formerly of Greentop, Missouri) passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

The son of Lando and Verna (Hersheerger) Gingerich, he was born October 3, 1934 in Kalona, Iowa. On December 3, 1975 in Quincy, Illinois, Richard was united in marriage to Rosetta Major, who survives.

Richard is also survived by four sons, Kim, Kerry, Tony and Terry Gingerich; two daughters, Vicki Casey and Pam Johns and husband Scott of Springfield; one brother, Lando Gingerich Jr. of Illinios; and several grandchildren including Tyson Johns of Springfield and Jourdain Johns of Naples, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Richard moved from Greentop to Springfield in 2009. He served in the United States Army. Richard was a member of the Kirksville Masonic Lodge #105, Gate of the Temple #422, and the Kirksville Shrine Club.

He was employed with Prairie Farms for several years. Richard enjoyed raising cattle and spending time at the Table Rock Lake.

Funeral services with Masonic services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Raymond Magruder officiating. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

The family will receive friends for one hour before the service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
