Romaine Laverne "Tex" Findling, 81, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday March 5, 2017 at his home.

Born June 8, 1935 in Kirksville, Missouri, Tex was the son of the late William Harvey and Geneva (Fortney) Findling. On December 19, 1954 in Unionville, Missouri, Tex was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Lightfoot who preceded him in death on May 22, 2014.

Tex is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Curtis L. and Linda Findling of Kirksville, MO; one brother, Charlie Findling of Atlanta, MO; one sister Lee Coy of Green Castle, MO; one grandchild, Jason Findling and wife Brandi of Waynesville, MO; and one great-grandchild, Felicity J. Findling also of Waynesville, MO.

Tex was a lifelong resident of Adair County and was a graduate from Kirksville High School. Tex owned and operated Tex Findling Auction Company and was an auctioneer for over sixty years holding many auctions in Adair and surrounding counties. Tex loved collecting antiques and following the Cardinal Baseball team.

It was Tex's wish to be cremated and a memorial service will be held to honor his life on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Virgil Jones officiating.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 10, 2017, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
