Wayne lived his entire life in Adair County and was a graduate from the Greentop High School with the Class of 1958. He then served three years in the United States Army before returning home. Wayne was a cattle farmer in the Greentop area and worked as a supervisor at Toastmaster in Kirksville. From 1977 to 1994, Wayne owned and operated Precise Machine & Tool Company in Greentop. He was last employed ten years as a tool and die machinist for Ortech Co.

Wayne had a love for anything outdoors. He enjoyed cattle farming and in years past, hunting. He enjoyed watching Cardinals games, spending time with his family and held a special place in his heart for all his grandchildren. Wayne had a mind, like no other, in his trade. For that, he will be remembered by many.
