Ronald "Ron" McKim, 80, of Kirksville, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his children.

The son of Jesse Martin and Pauline (Fowler) McKim, he was born in Kirksville, Missouri on May 16, 1936. On November 17, 1955 in Kirksville, Missouri, Ron was united in marriage to E. Rosetta "Rosie" Carman who preceded him in death on January 24, 2015.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Joy Reesman and five brothers and sisters, Jack McKim, Billy Shaw, Wanda Forsythe, Rodney "Doodle" McKim and Carol Rice.

Ronald is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Lorrie McKim and Tom and Davena McKim; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Ronna and Raymond Magruder, Joni and Tad Wilson, and Janie Hurley; fifteen grandchildren, Casey McKim (Danae), Heather McKim (Brian), Kristi Magruder, Matt Magruder, Stefanie Davidson (Terry), Abby McKim (Charles), Angela McKim, Jessica Hurley, Amanda Hurley, Courtney Hurley, Colton Hurley (Jamie), Nicole Conger (Tim), Joshua Wilson (Shannon), Rachel Wilson, Erica Speiser, and his adopted grandchildren, Dallie and Ty Davis; 24 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Jesse Norman (Butch) McKim.

Ronald was founder and owner of R & S Masonry of Kirksville, Missouri. R & S Masonry was started as a family business so Ronald could work with his sons Steve and Tom. R & S Masonry has completed many masonry projects in and around Kirksville and surrounding areas since the 1970's. Ronald's grandsons Casey McKim, Matt Magruder and Colton Hurley have also worked for R & S Masonry.

Ronald enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the many adopted grandchildren gained from Rosie's Day Care. He also enjoyed trips to the casinos, discussing politics and keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook.

Ronald was a generous supporter of the ministries of Faith United Methodist Church of Kirksville.

Public visitation will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 with family receiving friends form 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Raymond Magruder and Pastor Sheila Swafford assisting. Interment will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Casey McKim, Matt Magruder, Josh Wilson, Colton Hurley, Dylan Speiser and Nick Karrigan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church of Kirksville in the memory of Ronald and Rosetta McKim. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
