Betty Louise Snyder, 91, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, Missouri.

She was the daughter of Maude Blanche Hedrick, who preceded her in death. Betty was born January 17, 1926 in Novinger, Missouri. On November 13, 1941 she married Hallie Kline Capps, who preceded her in death on April 10, 1967. To this union nine children were born. On November 19, 1972 she married Burrell Snyder, who preceded her in death on June 26, 2000.

Surviving are one daughter, Kay Magruder (Donald) of Kirksville, MO, four sons, Kline Capps (Shirley) of Storm Lake, IA, Terry Capps (Brenda) of Kirksville, MO, Randy Capps of Kirksville, MO, and Alan Capps (Barbara) of Brashear, MO; three step children, Harold Capps of Des Moines, IA, Halene Lloyd of Kirksville, MO, Glen Snyder of Kirksville, MO. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tony Capps, Jeffery Capps, Kory Capps, Kelly Capps, Brian Capps, Jesse Capps, Slade Capps, Tammy Billings, Amy Capps, Jamie Capps, and step grand-children, Calvin Snyder, Elizabeth Monroe, John Snyder, James Snyder, Sue Miner, Daniel Magruder, Michael Magruder, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother and husbands, she was preceded in death by grandparents, three daughters, Zelda June Capps, Sandra Marie Capps, Elda Sue Capps, and one son, Roger Dean Capps, step children, Evelyn Smith, Phyllis Capps, Billy Capps, Varnie Coy, Cecil Snyder, and Paul Gene Snyder, two granddaughters Amanda and Jessica Capps, and one step-granddaughter, Stacy Snyder.

Betty lived on farms most of her life in northeast Missouri. She received her public education in Mason City, IA and her nursing diploma from Lincoln School of Nursing. She was employed with Grim Smith Hospital for fifteen years, McGraw Edison for six years, and RSVP for ten years. She was a past member of the Women of the Moose and the Willmathsville Wagon Masters.

Betty loved her family, her Lord, and was a member of the East Center Church. She enjoyed being around family and friends, reading, watching movies, and traveling. She was loved by all. She will be missed for her loving smile and concern for the welfare of others.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Interment will follow the service at East Center Cemetery, East of Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, December 9, 2017 for one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.
