Donald Edward Fowler, 51, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away December 18, 2017 unexpectedly.

Born February 2, 1966 in Tell City, Indiana, Donald was the son of the late Donald Lee and Trudie (Smitson) Fowler.

Donald lived in many places throughout his childhood but his home was in Wagoner, Oklahoma where he graduated high school in 1984. After high school, Donald served in the U. S. Army and believed in serving his country. During his military career, he traveled making friends, telling stories and leaving memories in Kentucky, Virginia, California, and Germany.

In 2012, he moved back to Kirksville while continuing his military career with the Reserves. He worked many jobs allowing him to make many friendships at ConAgra, Dominos, Taco Bell, Walmart, Hollister, Kraft Foods and Leisure World Lanes.

He lived an adventure everyday and never tried to change the past. His love for music, fishing, pool league, Frisbee golf, and his Harley led to a lifetime of friends. He saw the good in everyone and was loved by all. His contagious smile will be missed by all.

Donald is survived by his aunt Kay (Fowler) Sykes and husband Larry of Hurdland, MO and his three cousins, Jerry Harvey of TN, Sheila Walker, of IL, and Nikki Sykes of KS; his step-mother, Cathy Cossel of Wagoner, OK; one step sister, Julie Clark of Wagoner, OK; one step brother, Brian Clark of Wagoner, OK, half sister, Tina Brown of the State of Kentucky, his ex-wife, Anna Fowler of CA, and his special friend Traci Harden of LaPlata, MO.

Public visitation will be held Friday, December 29, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, with Bro Thomas Boatman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Queen City Cemetery in Queen City, MO.

Pallbearers will be Josh Smith, John Williams, Bob Withrow, T.J. Johnson, Eric Pfeiffer, and Jason Humphrey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kay Sykes for help on funeral expenses, and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
