Doris Jean (Spray) Cullers, 72, of Queen City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Doris was born May 25, 1945 in Memphis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Alvin Edward and Irene Belle (Barnes) Spray. On November 9, 1964 in Hurdland, Missouri, Doris was united in marriage to William Richard Cullers.

Doris is survived by her husband William of fifty-two years; seven children, Bobby Spray and wife Kimberly of Tioga, IL, Richard Cullers of Queen City, MO, Raychelle Love of Queen City, MO, Radonna Arnold and husband Robert of Greentop, MO, Ben Cullers of Queen City, MO, Robin Seavey of Kirksville, MO, and Renee Collis and husband Lee of Laclede, MO; two brothers, Eugene Spray of Baring, MO, and Alvin Spray of Keokuk, IA; twenty-four grandchildren, Amanda, Andrew, David, Jesse, Shelby, Taylor, Riley, Colby, Jack, Miracle, Cristian, Christopher, Chance, Desiraee, Kyra, Xavia, Phoenyx, Taz, Tazlene, Richlene, Faith, Phebe, Fanchine, and Wayne; eleven great-grandchildren, Jayden, Harley, Aiden, Maemae, Lily, Paul, Riley, Madelyn, Theseus, Charlea & Ainsley; one brother-in-law, Leon Cullers of Novinger, MO; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Funk of Lancaster, MO, and Mary Jacobson of Keokuk, IA, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; five children, William Christopher Cullers, Richard Eugene Cullers, William Edward Cullers, Rhonda Bernice Cullers, and Randall Bruce Cullers, and two brothers, Wayne Spray and one in infancy.

Doris was raised in Bible Grove, Missouri where she attended grade school. She later graduated from Downing High School with the Class of 1963. After graduating, Doris worked in nursing at Grim Smith Hospital in Kirksville. Doris loved working until her health failed and no longer could. She and William were foster parents for many years and after retiring Doris took care of her son, Brian and her grand babies.

Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing, making blankets, karaoke and watching her grandchildren. She loved racing in her red Firebird after work, watching one of her favorite shows (Dr. Pol), loved her bearded dragon Buddy, taking care of her fish, enjoying her pet chinchillas, and playing with her grandchildren.

Over the last two years, Doris experienced failing health and fought a long hard fight with her illness. She will be remembered for being very compassionate, for having a heart of gold, and for being strong willed.

Doris had a passion for Jesus Christ and was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2017 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Burkholder. Interment will follow the service at Bible Grove Cemetery in Bible Grove.

Pallbearers will be Matt Ellis, Damon Spray, Russell Lasley, Taz Seavey, David Spray, and Cristian Cullers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her husband William Cullers, and may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
