Margaret E. "Betty" (Poshek) Gill, 94, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday (June 16, 2016) at her home with family present.

The daughter of Joseph and Willa (Greenstreet) Poshek, she was born in Lingo, Missouri, on November 8, 1921.

She married Roderick O. "Bud" Gill on November 1, 1941 in Independence, Missouri, and to this union one daughter Barbara Jo Gill was born.

Margaret worked at the Munnition Plant in Independence, MO before returning to Kirksville. She then was employed at Florsheim Shoe Factory.

Betty is survived by her daughter Barbara Jo and husband Larry Coy of Kirksville, MO; four grandchildren, Timothy (Chris) Coy of Lewistown, MO, Samuel (Connie) Coy of Harrisburg, MO, Daniel Coy of Kirksville, MO and Sara Anderson (Robert) of Kirksville, MO; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Ellen) Coy of Independence, MO, Lisa Coy of New London, MO, Michael (Loretta) Cox of Kirksville, MO, Caleb and Stephen Coy of Harrisburg, MO, and Jesse Anderson of Ottumwa, IA, as well as three special nieces, Helen Sandor of Hobe Sound, FL, Bonnie Powers of Pahrump, NV, and Lorraine Clements of Indian Wells, CA, one special nephew, Edward Walker of Bucklin, MO, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, three sisters, Evelyn Chavez, Wanda Forester and Blanch Stone, three brothers, Steve Fowble, Fred Poshek, and Joseph "Billy" Poshek.

Betty loved quilting, gardening, reading, hunting and fishing. But most of all she loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Betty has been cremated, and a graveside service will be held Sunday (June 19, 2016) at the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, with Virgil Jones officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Highland Park Cemetery. Memorial may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
