Tressie Dean (Jerome) Borron, 90, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away March4, 2016 at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

Tressie was born October 20, 1925, near Winigan, Missouri, the daughter of Belva and Verna (Gramling) Jerome. On November 25, 1948 in Adair County, Missouri, Tressie was united in marriage to Herbert Borron who preceded her in death on August 24, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Marlene Borron; one brother, Wayne Jerome and a grandson.

Tressie is survived by her children, Barbara Klote (Michael) of Columbia, MO, Janine Henley of Lee's Summit, MO, and Bill Borron of LaPlata, MO; one sister, Treva Moyer of Lamar, MO; six grandchildren, Andrew Breen of Chicago, IL, Lauren Hardesty of Columbia, MO, Ben Henley of Lawrence, KS, Jacob Henley of Pleasant Hill, MO, Hannah Henley of Lee's Summit, MO, and Tristan Borron of LaPlata, MO; and her great grandson, McClain Hardesty of Columbia, MO.

Tressie graduated from Green City High School and Northeast Missouri State College (now Truman State University). She taught in rural schools in Adair and Sullivan counties from 1943 - 1949 and at Green City Elementary from 1970 - 1989. She held numerous leadership positions in the Missouri State Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa and was an active 4-H leader for many years. Upon retirement, she moved to Kirksville and then to Columbia in 1993.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday March 12, 2016 with family receiving friends one hour before the service in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Breen, Ben Henley, Jacob Henley, Tristan Borron and Chris Hardesty.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Tressie Borron may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Children's Mercy Hospital & Clinics. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501
