Marilyn Francis (Burns) Daniels

-

Marilyn Francis (Burns) Daniels, 78, of Pure Air went to meet her Lord and Savior November 17, 2016. She finished her days on this earth with grace, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, which she saw as her greatest blessing in life.

She was the daughter of Archie E. and Minnie E. Burns, born November 20, 1937 in Hannibal, Mo. Marilyn married Ivan Lee Daniels June 10, 1957 in Frankford, Mo. She is survived by her husband Ivan of fifty-nine years and her sons Jeffry “Jeff” Alan Daniels and wife Jennifer (Dove) of Novinger, Mo; Charles “Chuck” Eugene Daniels and wife Angela (Neff) of Pure Air; and Jason Wayne Daniels and wife Robin (Baker) of Novinger, Mo.

She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren: Andrew “Drew” Larry (Jessica) Daniels, Grant Ivan (Evan) Daniels, Mikel Jeffry Daniels, Jenna Mabel Marie Daniels, David William Daniels, Sierra Isabelle Daniels, Sheyenne Laine Daniels, Lee Ann (Matthew) Bonnel, Lynn Marie Daniels, Caitlin Kaye Daniels, Austin Eugene Daniels, Samantha Marie Daniels, Tristan Lee Daniels, Elijah “Eli” John Carter, Avery Marie Carter, and Elizabeth Lee Carter; three great-granddaughters: Desirae Marie Bonnel, Cora Kaye Bonnel, and Madison Lee Bonnel; and one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Roberta Burns of Holts Summit, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harry Wayne Burns; and son, Stacy Lee Daniels.

Marilyn’s greatest passion in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her four sons, sixteen grandchildren, and three great-granddaughters. She attended Missouri State Teacher’s College in Kirksville, Mo. She had a heart for children, and spent most of her life as a teacher’s aid, and later a substitute for Green City R-1 and Adair Co. R-1 Schools. She also served on the Adair Co. Public Library Board and the Adair Co. R-1 School Board. When she was not in the classroom, she could be found on the front row or behind home plate supporting the Novinger Wildcats or the Atlanta Hornets. It brought her great joy to watch her children and grandchildren during sporting events, and she rarely missed a game. She also had a love of flowers and spent hours sitting on her front porch watching the hummingbirds feed.
Marilyn was a member of Pure Air Baptist Church, where she was song leader, pianist, organist, and bible school teacher for many years. She took two mission trips to North Dakota on the indian reservation and one mission trip to Iowa where she helped conduct Bible School Study.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Mo.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor's Andy Cordray and Sheila Swafford officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Pratt Cemetery, southwest of Novinger.
