Lonnie D Winn, 68, of Boonville, MO, formerly of Kirksville, MO, entered eternal life October 20, 2016 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO following a heart attack.

Lonnie was born September 12, 1948 in Schuyler County MO the son of Silas L. and Jewell A. (Anders) Winn. He was a 1966 graduate of Lancaster High School in Lancaster MO. Lonnie enlisted into the U.S. Army on September 19, 1967, and served in the Republic of South Vietnam. Lonnie was awarded numerous medals including two purple hearts, two air medals, and the combat infantry badge.

December 12, 1969 Lonnie was united in marriage to Sharon Billington in Kirksville, MO who survives. He is also survived by two sons James Brent and wife Deanna Winn of Marshfield MO and Jeffrey Bryan and wife Aimee Winn of Kansas City, MO. He was also PaPo to precious grandchildren Allison Jewel and Ethan Lee Winn of Kansas City, MO. Grandpa to Chad (Brandy) Campbell and Stephanie Campbell of Lebanon, MO, Brooklynn, Carleigh, Isaiah, Memphis and Braylee. He is also survived by a sister, Marjorie McFarland of Kirksville, MO a brother, Eugene (Barb) Winn of Hallsville, MO sisters-in-law Barbara Winn of Jefferson City, MO, Druzella Winn of Memphis, MO, Shirley Aldridge of Brashear, MO, Sherry (Dan) Collins of Pleasant Hill MO, brothers-in-law Roger (Georgia) Billington of Greentop, MO, Russell (Tammy) Billington of Keytesville MO and John (Wendy) Billington of Garden City, MO and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Virginia Gray and Nadine Chancellor; two brothers: Albert and Charles Winn.

Lonnie was employed with McGraw Edison, Burroughs, and with District 2 MO Department of Transportation for twenty-seven years until retiring. He then worked for MFA for several years. Lonnie loved God, family, country and was a devoted conservative. An early coffee meeting regular, he never met a stranger. Lonnie was multi talented and able to fix anything. He loved working with equipment and on the family farm, always ready to give the grandchildren rides on the 4X4.

Lonnie attended First Church of God in Kirksville, MO until moving to Boonville, MO where he attended Santa Fe Trail Baptist Church.

Public visitation will be held Sunday October 23, 2016 with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Winn, Rex Winn, Shane Ross, Shawn Robertson, Dan Collins, Roger Billington, Kevin Maxey, and Pat Gray. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Duncan, Carl Anderson, Ken Tounzen, Melissa Langley, Gary Barnes and Curtis York.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Jon Thoma presiding. Music selections "That will be Glory For Me", "Amazing Grace", and "How Great Thou Art" will be provided by Melvin Bissey. Interment with military honors will follow the service at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
