Shirley Ann (May) Parry, 77, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Friday (March 20, 2015) at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The daughter of John and Sadie (Lumsden) May, she was born February 23, 1938 in Kirksville, Missouri. Shirley was married to Lewis D. Parry Jr. and to this union three children were born.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Lewis of the home; one son, Mike Parry of Shelbina, MO; two daughters Sally Ann Parry (Harris) of Nevada, MO and Glenda Elizabeth Parry (Lankford) of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Donna Miller of Moberly, MO and Barbara Tillery of Cairo, MO; five grandchildren, Stephanie Murrell, Steven Parry, Ashley White, Sarah Harris and Britney Lankford, and four great-grandchildren, Emily Murrell, Austin Murrell, Landon Murrell and Anthony White.

Shirley resided in Gibbs, Missouri from 1938 until 1955. She attended the Prairie Bird School and later the Brashear School where she graduated from high school. She then attended beauty college and worked at Wally's House of Beauty. Shirley later moved to St. Louis and entered the St. Louis Cosmetologist Association hair styling contest and won first place over all the other stylist in 1958. She returned to Wally's House of Beauty and when Hollister's opened in Kirksville, Shirley went to work there where she was employed until her retirement.

Shirley had a great personality, enjoyed country dancing and loved Christmas and shopping for her family.

Public visitation will be held Tuesday (March 24, 2015) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (March 25, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Charles Jackson officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Missouri State Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Mike Parry, Steven Parry, Gary Lankford, Rob Murrell, Randy Harris and Blake Totten.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Shirley Parry may be made to the Stewart Cancer Center at Boone Hospital. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
