Allen Wayne Himes, 58, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at his home under Hospice care.

The son of Edward Wayne and Evelyn Marie (Taylor) Himes, he was born September 13, 1957 in Kirksville, Missouri.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Himes of Kirksville, MO; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Randi Himes of Eatonville, WA; two grandchildren, Lindsey Himes and Bobbie Duvall; sister-in-law, Linda Himes of Novinger, MO; two nephews, Bill and Chris Himes of Novinger, MO, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Clayton; longtime companion, Michelle Campbell, and step-daughter, Kristi Copeland.

In 1981 Allen was united in marriage to Rebecca Atkins Lindsey and to this union one son was born. He served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1984, during peace time. After serving the Army, Allen worked several years at McGraw Edison in Macon, Missouri. He later owned and operated a landscaping business.

Allen enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved his time spent with his family and grandchildren.

Allen has been cremated and a Memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Barry Poyner officiating. Dan Green will be assisting Pastor Poyner. Military honors will take place during the Memorial Service.
