Valeria Ann (Goans) Gibson, 83, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Monday, (December 21, 2015) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.

The daughter of Jewel Ernest and Ida Belle (Dickson) Goans, she was born December 18, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On November 11, 1956 in Marshall, Missouri, Ann was united in marriage to Jimmie M. Gibson who preceded her in death on October 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Ann is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Don and Bethany Gibson of Kirksville, MO; one daughter and son-in-law, Joy and James Eding of Plainfield, IN; five grandchildren, Tony Gibson, Tawnya (Rob) Ace, Derrick Conover, Brittany (Ashan) Perera, and Melissa (Justin) Huffaker; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Haylee Ace, and several nieces and nephews.

Ann was a graduate from Marshall High School in Marshall, Missouri, with the Class of 1950. She was employed a number of years at Northeast Missouri State University, later Truman State University until retiring.

Ann loved watching her children and grandchildren play ball and sporting events through out the years and also enjoyed luncheons spent with her many friends.

She was a member of Women of the Moose and First Christian Church of Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, (December 28, 2015) at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Jim Pitney officiating. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.

Family will receive friends on Monday, (December 28, 2015) for one hour before service time in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Melissa Huffaker, Derrick Conover, Tony Gibson, John Ross, Tawnya Ace and Brittany Perera.
